Broker choice 2017 - these are the winners

The election for Broker of the Year 2017 has been decided. More than 39,000 traders voted for their favorite broker. The election, in which investors voted from March 1 to March 30 on www.brokerwahl.de was held for the 17th time and is thus considered the seal of quality in the German brokerage market. Traders were able to vote in a total of 6 categories:
  • Online Broker
  • Daytrade Broker
  • Forex Broker
  • Funds & Certificates Broker
  • CFD Broker
  • Futures Broker
In the main category "Online Broker of the Year 2017" the Consorsbank win the title for the first time since 2012 and beat last year's winner comdirect to second place. Perhaps the takeover of DAB Bank gave Consorsbank the decisive impetus in this year's poll. There was a surprise in third place - because here Degiro, a relatively new broker, was able to overtake many established brokers. The next places are taken by flatex, IG, LYNX Broker and the DKB.
On the title "Daytrade Broker of the Year 2017", Consorsbank was unable to repeat its success from the previous year and came in second place. This year's title was snatched by Degirowho had finished second in this category the previous year. Third place was won by ViTrade which had still ended up in 4th place in 2016. In the end, the Kulmbach broker flatex was ahead of LYNX Broker and CapTrader.
In the category "CFD Broker of the Year 2017"on the other hand, there was a repeat success for IG. In 2nd place followed Ayondo Marketswho won the title in the previous year. Third place went to WH SelfInvest ahead of XTB, JFD Brokers and Consorsbank.
In the election for the "Futures Broker of the Year 2017" could WH Selfinvest after second place in the previous year, displacing Consorsbank in second place and securing the title again after 2015. In third place follows LYNX Broker from BANX, OnVista Bank and CapTrader.
In the category "Funds & Certificates Broker of the Year 2017" could flatex celebrate a start-finish victory and S Broker in 2nd place and the OnVista Bank in third place. Behind then followed the Postbank and the 1822direct. Overall, the absence of DAB Bank (taken over by Consorsbank), which had celebrated many successes here in previous years, was of course also noticeable in this category.

In the sixth category was awarded the "Forex Broker of the Year 2017" was chosen. Here there was a victory for GKFXwhich took the lead early on and was able to maintain it until the end. As in 2016, second place went to the Berlin-based forex broker Admiral Markets. In 3rd place came JFD Brokers from FXCM, XTB, WH Selfinvest and ActivTrades.

Conclusion:
In the main category, Consorsbank was able to relegate the winner of the last few years, comdirect from Quickborn, to second place. After the integration of DAB Bank last year, the Nuremberg-based online broker is obviously having a good run - because it was also able to win second place in both the Daytrade Broker and Futures Broker categories.
This makes Consorsbank the most successful broker across all categories in this year's broker poll.
Behind them comes Degiro, which in addition to first place among Datrade brokers also won third place among online brokers. WH Selfinvest was just as successful, winning third place among CFD brokers in addition to the title among futures brokers.
In total, there were only two title defenses this year - which shows how strong the competition is in the German brokerage market. Since the business models of the individual brokers sometimes differ very significantly, it is therefore important for traders to take their time when looking for the right broker. From specialized niche providers to full-service brokers, everything is available - so it is worth comparing the brokers' services and fees!
The winners of the prizes (including a week's vacation in Mallorca, a weekend each in Vienna, Budapest and Vienna, as well as an Apple Macbook and 100 free subscriptions to Insider Alarm) will be notified in the next few days.
