Currently at 70.15 points, the transaction cost index in April 2010 remains just above the lows of August 2008 (69.02 points).<\/p>\n<p>David Ernsting, editor of Broker-Test.de, comments: \"The transaction cost index is currently at just over 70 points, i.e. close to its historic low. In the current stock market environment, there is unlikely to be any scope for major fee increases. The index is likely to remain at a level slightly below 70 points over the next 12 months.<br \/>\nHowever, the comparison with normal branch banks is particularly interesting. The order fees there are often three times more expensive (or even more!). These fees must first be recouped through a decent trading performance. The starting point is July 2000 with an index value of 100. The transaction cost index includes the transaction costs incurred for ten different order volumes with the online brokers relevant in Germany.
