The average order fees of online brokers in the German-speaking region fall by 2.19 points compared with April 2011 to a level of 70.20 points. This puts the Transaction Cost Index<\/a> almost at the same low level as in May 2010 (70.15 points).<\/p>\n

The reason for the downward movement in average order fees was the previously announced reduction in transaction costs at the Bankhaus Jungholz Direct Investment Austria<\/a> as of April 15. This makes stock orders significantly cheaper. For example, for a 500 euro order you will only pay 8.70 euros instead of 28.90 euros, a saving of almost 70 percent. For a 5,000 euro order, only 19.95 euros will be due in future instead of 28.90 euros. In addition, the maximum order fee has been capped at 99.95 euros plus the basic fee and exchange location fee.<\/p>\n

The Broker-Test.de transaction cost index represents the current development of the average transaction costs since July 2000 on a monthly basis. The starting point is July 2000 with an index value of 100. The transaction cost index includes the transaction costs incurred for ten different order volumes at the brokers relevant in Germany. Online brokers<\/a>. Thus, it also includes fluctuations due to the market entry of new brokers or the market exit of brokers.
\nThe transaction cost index had its lowest value to date in August 2008 with a value of 69.02 points.<\/p>\n

By way of comparison, the average transaction costs of traditional branch banks are around 300 points higher than the transaction cost index of online brokers, i.e. a trade there is on average more than four times more expensive than with an online broker.<\/p>\n
